HYC Tournament

So the tournament ran from 5am to 1:30pm. High tide was at at 4:30, which gave us a tough fishing window.

On Friday afternoon I swung by the Hull tackle store at picked up some worms and extra circle hooks

Team Lonsdale got up just before 6am Saturday morning, by the time we got everything together including getting doughnuts we left the dock a little after 6:30am, and by around 7, we made it to the 1st spot I wanted to fish. Brian was there with 1st Tracks so we went to plan B, fishing Toddy rocks. We started by going with the current, but on reaching the far end turned around and went against the current. There was some super nice structure and wasn’t long till we had a hook up which our Female resident angler took and delivered us our 1st fish of the day.

Chelsea’s Fish

We tried a bit longer at the same spot with no hook ups so moved to Plan C, fishing in Boston inner harbor.

Tate hooked up this time with a fish that had to half the size of the tube and worm and not much bigger than a Brook Trout. We quickly released him and fished a bit longer. We didn’t have another hook up some slowly worked our way towards home looking for any bird action. Seeing nothing and given that it was blazing hot. We called it a day at around 10am and went for a swim at Grand Dad Dereks pool.

We returned to HYC, for awards and found that Chelsea had placed 2nd in women’s division.

All togher a fun and successful morning out in the whaler.
