Just wrapped up 4 great days of fishing at Sailfish Oasis on the Allure II. Ended up with 10 fish a day release average and a beautiful stripped Marlin to boot.
Food and company at lodge was amazing as always, with a phenomenal BBQ on the last night. Rooms were super clean and comfortable with everything working perfectly from very cold AC to very hot water for the shower.
Fishing was a bit of a run for here, but once we got to the fish, fishing was great. One day we caught a quad (4 fish on at one time) and even released 6 fish in less than 30 mins.
First day we managed to release 6 fish after raising over 20, the morning fish were a bit meek, but the bites in the afternoon were much more aggressive with a few taking the switch from teaser.
Day 2 and 3 were great solid bites with a few stripped marlin thrown in.
Day 4 we made a longer run to new “HOT” only to find the fish weren’t there. We found some tunas we couldn’t get to bite and moved closer to our original area for the afternoon where we released 6 sailfish in less than 30 minutes helped by a quad (four fish on at one time) and two quick singles.
Great to end with a 10 a day release average.
Allure II is a fantastic day fishing boat, optimized perfectly for the fishing done here, with easy and quick access to the cockpit via an open cabin. Super strong AC in the cabin and lots of flybridge overhang in the cockpit for shade.
All in all, great crew on the boat and amazing team at the lodge.
